Can't believe that upgrade caused downgrade: Boxee upgrade experience

I was running boxee-0.9.20.10711 for almost 4 months and it was a pleasant experience. Recently Boxee released boxee-0.9.21.12594 and so I thought it may be good to give it a try. Big mistake.

The new version showed everything in pixelated way. The mouse on the app didn't allow me to navigate everything on the screen. Plus the Windows start button and all bar at the bottom didn't go away.

So I tried to rollback by reinstalling the older version, but that didn't solve the problem. Eventually I uninstalled Boxee, and then reinstall the boxee-0.9.20.10711, and now everything is back to normal. I even got all the history back. Glad that I keep the older version of Boxee.

BTW, I also set the screen resolution to the highest solution native to the HDTV. Picture on the screen now looks even shaper, which is nice.

Time to remove from crap from my media center computer

I was starting to find that my media center machine (Lenovo S12) is getting sluggish is performance regardless of whether I am watching media through the network or from an external USB harddisk. After looking into the issue, I found out that I have 2 machine sessions running (one from Windows remote desktop, and one by directly using the machine). But at the same time I also found that there are tons of stuff installed on that machine which I never use. So I think it's time for me to start reinstalling every single crap and only left those that are essential for media playback.
