Man, McAfee VirusScan pissed me off! I have the ��NT On-Access Scanner service�� error (which rendered VirusScan into disable mode!) problem for a while. Totally, I finally figure out why by checking out the Event Viewer. It was because of VirusScan failed to handle some non-Unicode filename (like Chinese and Japanese). In fact, many other users complain about it while VirusScan still refuse to fix the problem:

So screw you McAfee. I am switching to other anti-virus software, like F-secure Internet Security. In fact, I am doing it now.

Hmmmm �K but then I tried both F-Secure 2004 and 2005. The serial checking prevented me from completing the installation. So I finally bowed down and installed the AVG Anti-virus free edition. So far, so good.

I was looking into the lightest notebook from Cnet again. The IBM X40 looks fine (with 2.4 lbs weight) but the price does not justify it (HK$17,000). The Toshiba Tablet XP, on the other hand, is too heavy and too hot as a Tablet PC. The new HP Tablet PC looks OK, but the HP quality �K.. sigh. Guess I��ll keep my Compaq running for a while I guess.
