My strange BIOS setting ...

I don't get it. I already disabled two of the three drives that I have on the BIOS setup. But after I booted up my machine, the OS still recognize the two "disabled" harddisk. Also the bootup drive selection seems to be working on something, but not exactly as I expected. Specifically, the drive I picked a startup drive wasn't being recognized as first drive when I boot up partition magic.
