Gave up on recovering corrupted Outlook files

I lost 2 years worthy of company email when my 32Gb thumbdrive failed, and then I realized that I backed up pretty much everything EXCEPT that outlook file.  So after a day of grief and pain, I looked around and trying to see if there's a way to recover this broken .pst file, which I recovered from a free tool called PhotoRec 7.0.

I tried 2 software, and they both failed.  First I tried Stellar Phoenix Outlook PST Repair, but it doesn't do anything more that the free utility scanpst.exe (comes with Microsoft Outlook) does.  And then I tried Kernel Recovery for PST, and that one was equally useless.  At the end, I gave up, discovered the fact, but with lot of rage because of all the hope these products inspired me to have.
